Venting about homework - through a homework assignment

Homework
I can say, from experience (and like 20 other stories), that this is so true! Obviously homework helps you with tests, and you can’t just expect no homework at all (especially if you want to learn), but when you’re whole life is taken up with almost meaningless homework, there is no room for anything else. School is not the only important things in life, and when the teacher does not know about other circumstances that would stop the students from doing hours of homework every night (like life), it gives a disadvantage to them. The last two paragraphs are really good, (so maybe I’m an “opposer of homework”, sew me), life is not just school for a reason. -Rusty140
Childhood

This is a great article! I think childhood is one of the biggest factors of what someone grows up to be. If your childhood is full of stress, you will be uptight, and probably boring. “Too much work and no play makes jack a dull boy”! My childhood is the part of my life that I remember most. I think that is the case with most people with “good” childhoods. Hardly anything that I “know” came from the school system. One part that I really liked about this article is when it talked about why parents and schools do these things. In the first part, it talks about how parents have their kids in pressure cookers, and think that they will amount to nothing if they are not the best. This is not true. Once again, great article! – Rusty140

  1. The article about homework is exactly my thought! Sometimes it is alright to have RESONABLE amount of homework, but when our homework time excceeds a certain of hours, then it is hindering our study process. We have our own life outside the school, homework is not the only we do. I totally agree with you!

  2. This is so true. Homework can be extremely beneficial, but after a certain point it can start to have a negative effect. There needs to be a proper balance between school life and home life, and when there is too much homework it becomes impossible to meet that harmonious balance. Learning and growing is essential in life, but how do we know where to draw the line on homework? That is a very good question. I definitely agree with the article that after 2 1/2 hours a day in highschool is reasonable, but like it said after 5 hours it starts to have negative instead of positive effects. I have experienced this first hand and strongly agree! Great Pick Ben!

  3. BENNNYYY BOYYY. I don't have to comment on this but I want to!! A TO THE MEN. Sometimes we learn more after school through living life and developing our talents then we would doing worksheets and papers until 3 or 4 in the morning. And honestly when I get home from dance at 9 on some days, I seriously have to stay up til 3 to get an even decent grade with all the homework for every single class. I think it kind of gets ridiculous when having so much homework is a reason for considering quitting an after-school activity. Ya know? Life needs balance! So...Homework is good. But not more than 5 hours of it. Cuz sleep is also good.(:
